las traducciones en forma
interlineal para que puedan ser compadas. Por otra parte algunas palabras 
las deje en ingles, para que cuando
sean revisadas, busquen un significado mejor que sea el espiritu original de 
lo que RMS quizo decir, ustedes que
lo conocen mejor.

welcome you all to the first conference on GNU General Public License 
version 3.

I'd like to introduce you to FSF - Free Software Foundation - founder and 
president, Richard Stallman.

Hello and welcome and I'm glad that you're interested in making the GNU GPL 
version 3 as good as it can possibly be.

We've been using this license for a long time and we've discovered various 
points where it was either confusing, or needed to be adapted, and meanwhile 
the world has sprung very nasty threats on our community and on all software 
users. So we need to update the GPL. We've known this actually for many 
years. We had some sessions about 4 years ago, working on updating the GPL. 
But then things went on, and we decided this year we're going to sit down 
and we're going to take a lot of time, and we're going to get it finished.

Hola y bienvenidos, estoy contendo de que esten interesados en hacer de la 
version 3 de la GNU GPL lo mejor posible.
He estado usando esta licencia por un largo tiempo, y he descubierto varios 
puntos donde es aun confusa, o necesita ser adaptada, y mientras el mndo han 
tenido sprung very nasty, trato con nuestra comunidad, y con todos los 
usuarios de software. Por lo cual necesitamos actualizar la GPL. Hemos 
sabido esto por varios años. Tenemos sesiones de cuatro años atrás 
trabajando en actualizar la licencia GPL. Pero las cosas transcurren y he

 The biggest change we've made, is in the area of license compatibility. 
Helping to - well partly - removing an inconvenience, an obstacle, that has 
prevented combining code from various free software packages. There are some 
free software licenses that are compatible with version two, and people can 
mix the code, for example that's under the X11 license, people can copy that 
into GPL covered programs, and do. We've put in provisions to extend the 
range of compatible licenses, there are additional licenses now that will be 
compatible with the GPL, and it will be possible to copy the code or link it 
together in a combined larger program. This, we think, will help our 
community.

El cambio mas grande que hemos hecho, es en el area de compatibilidad de la 
licencia. Ayudando  - en buena parte- a remover un inconveniente, un 
obstáculo, que se ha prevented combinando codigo de varios paquetes de 
software libre. Hay algunas licencias de software libre que son compatibles 
con la version 2, y la gente puede mesclar el codigo, por ejemplo bajo la 
licencia X11, la gente puede copiar dentro de la GPL pogramas cubiertos, y 
hacerlo. Hemo puesto en provisions de extender el rango de licencia 
compatibles, hay licencias tradicionales que ahora seran compatibles con la 
GPL, y sera posible copiar el codigo o vincularlo de forma cojunta con un

Aside from that, the biggest changes I believe concern DRM. Digital 
Restrictions Management threatens the freedom of every computer user. It's 
fundamentally based on denying users the freedom to control the software 
that they operate. DRM is an example of a malicious feature - a feature 
designed to hurt the user of the software, and therefore, it's something for 
which there can never be toleration, and DRM is fundamentally based on 
activities that cannot be done, with free software, that's it's goal: to 
make sure that there are things that users cannot do with free software. 
That's the direct opposite of our goal, which is to do everything with free 
software. Unfortunately some of that software is circulating only 
underground in the US because it's been forbidden. With the DMCA, the 
Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Fuera de esto, los cambios mas grande, creo, conciernen a las DRM. Digital 
Restrictions Management, threatens la liberta de cada usuarios de 
computadoras. Esta basada fundamental en denegar a los usuarios el control
