Totalmente de acuerdo con Stallman:

El problema no es tanto si el software es pirateado o no. El problema es 
más bien que se use software privativo. Quien usa software privativo con 
licencia contribuye más al mal o que el que lo usa sin licencia.

Tengo la impresión que confusiones como éstas se generan porque mucha 
gente no conoce el trasfondo político-ideológico del movimiento del 
software libre. Mucha gente cree que software libre es simplemente 
luchar contra software pirata o usar software que no le cae virus.

El software libre no se debe usar porque sea bueno, de buena calidad, 
sino porque es simplemente libre. Mucha gente que simpatiza por el 
software libre no entiende muy bien el trasfondo socialista libertario 
que le caracteriza. Sugiero que se pueda hacer explícito el carácter 
político (o probablemente más bien a-político) del movimiento del 
software libre y no tanto así la parte tecnológica-informática.
