GNU Linux-libre is supposed to build without rust, but this inquiry is
about building with rust.

Thanks for trying.  I've already built allmodconfig without rust before
releasing, so the build that was going on is unlikely to provide us with
new information.  The reason I asked for help is that I got stuck in my
attempts to test the modified rust bits, due to lack of (t)rustworthy
tooling and of familiarity with rust.
