If the distribution is listed either on
- gnu.org/distros/free-distros.html
- gnu.org/distros/free-non-gnu-distros.html
The kernel should be completely free software.
If that's not the case it's a bug that ought to be reported to the
developers and fixed.

The easiest way to get a fully free software Linux kernel out of any
Linux kernel fork like this one is to try to deblob it with the
linux-libre deblob scripts.
